BREAKING: Terrorists kidnap five, kill one in fresh attack

Bandits have kidnapped at least five people in Akansan Garmadi, a community in Rumaya, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The attackers also killed a 27-year-old man, Piti Ezekiel, during the raid.

According to Danbaba Katuka, National Secretary of the Kauru Local Government Area Community Development Association Forum, the victims were taken from their homes on Thursday night.

Katuka identified the abducted individuals as Afiniki Baban Gida, 46, Afiniki Timothy, 41, Talatu Timothy, 40, Manayi Abu, 36, and Richard Dalhatu, 42.

One person, Timothy Daure, 48, a traditional title holder, was shot but survived the attack. Katuka stated that the bandits stormed the village at around 10:30 pm, shooting indiscriminately and causing widespread fear.

The frequent attacks have led to many residents abandoning their homes and farms, leaving their produce to rot. Katuka emphasized that the communities are willing to cooperate with authorities to address the security challenges in the area.

Efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful as he could not pick up calls as at the time of filing this report.
