BREAKING: ‘The only offence committed by Gov Fubara is that he had decided to ask questions’ – According to Prof Benjamin Okaba

In response to the argument between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Professor Benjamin Okaba, the President of the Ijaw National Congress, claimed that Fubara’s transgression was his readiness to contest the scope of his authority when carrying out specific governor’s duties. According to Okaba, Fubara is facing challenges from his own commissioners and is virtually serving as a figurehead in his capacity as governor.

In an interview with Arise TV, ”We have done a thorough analysis, the only offense committed by Fubara is that he had decided to ask questions about his authority to do certain things as a governor of the state.

Professor Benjamin Okaba expressed, “This man, as a governor, has barely traveled out of the state; he is being challenged by his own commissioners. He’s essentially just a figurehead. And he’s asserting that this cannot continue for the progress of Rivers State.”
