BREAKING: The total money in summary that entered the party between 2022 and now is N1.3billion — Julius Abure

The National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, has, during an interview on The Morning Show, an Arise Television programme, insisted that the National Treasurer of the party, Oluchi Oparah, lied when she said that the party received over N3.5billion for campaigns during 2023 elections; as he noted that the total money that came into the party’s account between 2022 and now is N1.3billion.

He also noted that he never embezzled the funds of the party, and went further to say that there are audited reports for the public to check.

The LP bigwig had said, “I must also put on record here that it is not true that she said that the party has collected over 3.5billion.

I want to make it abundantly clear that we already have audited reports made by a certified auditor of the party: the party has an external auditor who has reviewed all the records, and we have all the audited statements of account from 2022 to 2023 okay, all these records are available, the audited statements of account is here, I have them here; the total money in summary that entered the party between 2022 and now is one billion, three hundred, nothing more nothing less.

We also got 700million, which were campaign funds, and that went straight to the Campaign Organization for the campaigns.”.
