BREAKING: Tinubu Gives Orders To Customs To Return Food Items Seized To Owners

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the Nigerian Customs Service to return all grains that have been seized at various service locations and units to their lawful owners.

One condition of the order was that the grains must be available for later retail sale in all of the nation’s markets.

The declaration was made by Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Bashir Adewale Adeniyi during a meeting with stakeholders on Saturday in the border town of Kwangwalam in the Maiadua Local Government Area of Katsina State.

He claimed that President Tinubu’s generous order was an effort to guarantee that Nigerians would have access to affordable food in the markets.

It is the hope of the Nigerian government that this will assist alleviate the country’s food insecurity crisis; the president sees it as one of several viable options.

There was some upward pressure on food costs due to shortages caused by the seizure of more than 120 trucks’ worth of export goods, which implies that many foods were removed from our marketplaces.

“So, we hope that by the time we restock our markets, it will have some positive effects on the prices.” -Reports from Rivers State Television indicate.
