BREAKING: Tinubu Government Urges Nigerians to Report VIPs Violating Police Escort Ban
The Presidency has called on Nigerians to help enforce President Bola Tinubu’s directive withdrawing police escorts from private individuals and non-essential VIPs.
Daniel Bwala, the President’s Media Adviser, urged citizens to document any violations, such as photographing or filming officers accompanying individuals not entitled to protection.
He clarified that some government officials will retain security based on role sensitivity, and other agencies like the SSS or Civil Defence may provide coverage instead of police.
Bwala said the move aims to free police personnel for frontline duties, reduce misuse of manpower, and enhance overall public safety, as part of broader security reforms.
