The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas, has stressed that the measures being taken by President Bola Tinubu to improve the country’s economy reflect his deep concern for the plight of Nigerians.

Abbas made this statement when President Tinubu presented the 2024 budget to the National Assembly on Wednesday.

He said, “The National Assembly will continue to support the reform agenda through the enactment of relevant laws, meaningful dialogue, and public awareness campaigns to gain understanding and support.”

According to him, President Tinubu’s foreign trips have helped to enhance Nigeria’s image in the eyes of the world, reflecting the impact of his leadership at the international level.

However, Abbas commended the efforts of Nigerians in overcoming economic challenges, especially after the removal of fuel subsidies and the inflation.

He said that these measures came at a very difficult time, but they were essential for nation-building.

He added, “Such sacrifices are crucial to ensuring sustainable national development.
