President Bola Tinubu has approved new appointments in key education agencies, naming Dr. Mohammed Aminu as the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).
Aminu, who holds a Ph.D. in Automobile Technology and a Master’s in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, brings 28 years of experience in teaching, administration, research, and policy development. Before his appointment, he served as the Director of Procurement at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure.
In a statement on Tuesday, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said Tinubu urged Aminu to use his experience to drive reforms at NABTEB and enhance the certification of skilled professionals vital for Nigeria’s industrial development.
The president also appointed Mr. Idris Olorunnimbe as Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Board. Additionally, Mr. Rasaq Olajuwon was named Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical), while Tunde Ajibulu will serve as Deputy Executive Secretary (Services).
Olorunnimbe, founder and Group CEO of The Temple Company, has a strong background in youth empowerment, education, and innovative leadership. Under his leadership, the company has championed initiatives across education, entertainment, and sports.
Olajuwon previously served as Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency.
Tinubu charged the new UBEC appointees to strengthen human capital, implement educational reforms, and improve access to quality basic education across the country.
