BREAKING: Tinubu wades into Lagos Assembly crisis, meets Obasa, Meranda, other lawmakers

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday met with members of the Lagos State House of Assembly at the State House in Abuja, amidst the lingering leadership crisis in the state legislature.

The meeting, which took place in the evening, was attended by the reinstated Speaker, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, and the former speaker and incumbent deputy speaker, Hon. Mojisola Meranda ¹.

The lawmakers, who arrived at the Presidential Villa in two coaster buses, were ushered into the council chambers to wait for the meeting.

While Meranda arrived with her colleagues around 2 pm, Obasa arrived separately about 30 minutes later.

Although the details of
the engagement were not immediately available, sources revealed that the meeting was not unconnected with the leadership crisis rocking the Lagos House ofAssembly.

The crisis had led to the impeachment of Obasa as Speaker by a majority of the House members, but he was later reinstated after the intervention of political leaders in the state.
