Governing Board member of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Sam Onuigbo, has said President Bola Tinubu’s achievements show that experience counts.

Onuigbo stated this yesterday at the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP), Abia Central chapter in Umuahia, the state capital, saying the achievements are humongous.

The former member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency at the National Assembly also said: “Tinubu, is indeed, the leader Nigeria deserves at this present time”.

“Without doubt, this event will, over time, remain indelible in the annals of the political history and development of our dear state, Abia State and Nigeria, at large.”

He lauded the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Ben Kalu, for initiating the RHP, “whose sole mandate is to ensure the re-election of Tinubu through citizen inclusion and participation.

“Today, as we inaugurate the chapter, I must say that we have taken a necessary step to reciprocate the good work of Mr. President and our son, the deputy speaker, the nation’s number six citizen.”

Onuigbo, who at the event received defectors  to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ikwuano local government area, added that he is excited “by the calibre of politicians joining us.”

In a contribution, the APC state chairman, Kingsley Ononogbu, charged the chapter leaders and members to brace up for the task, describing their mandate as enormous.

Represented by the APC zonal chairman, Lawrence Ukata, he added, “You have a good job. You must gather enough votes for the APC to grant us place at the government’s table after the 2027 poll.”

Responding on behalf of chapter members, Patrick Ikechi expressed appreciation to the RHP for finding them worthy of the task, assuring that they would deliver as expected.

Speaking after Onuigbo handed over bunches of brooms, the symbol of the APC, to each of them, the defectors’ leader, Enyinnaya Ezeri, said the RHI had come to stay in the zone.

Ezeri, a former commissioner at the State Independent Electoral Commission, explained that they understand every nook and cranny of the zone and how to gather and deliver the votes in full.

Earlier, while presenting the defectors to the former legislator, the local government APC chairman, Chinedu Adindu, assured them of a level playing field “for our common goal”.
