The Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his visit to Enugu State.

Speaking via a statement by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo asserted that the President’s visit demonstrates the Federal Government’s attention to South-East development.

Naija News reports that Tinubu made his first official visit to Enugu state on Saturday to inaugurate some projects executed by the Gov. Peter Mbah administration.

The statement disclosed that Soludo warmly welcomed President Tinubu on his visit to the Southeast region, saluting his liberal leadership style.

“The President is in Enugu state to commission developmental projects completed under Gov. Peter Mbah’s administration.

“This gesture underscores his commitment to fostering productive federal-state relations while advancing the interests of the Southeast region.

“The visit to the Southeast also demonstrates the federal government’s attention to the south east region’s development,” it said.

Soludo congratulated his counterpart, Gov. Mbah of Enugu State, on his developmental strides.

According to him, the development strides are in tandem with similar positive developments being implemented in Anambra.

Meanwhile, Soludo, has announced a ₦10 million bounty for information leading to the arrest of gunmen responsible for the tragic attack that claimed seven lives in Ihiala.

The assault, which occurred on Monday, left five security operatives and two civilians dead.

The attack unfolded during preparations for a burial ceremony scheduled for January 2, when the assailants stormed the gathering and opened fire indiscriminately.

As they fled, the attackers also targeted security personnel near the local government headquarters, intensifying the chaos and leaving more casualties in their wake.

The state police command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, adding that the Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, has initiated a manhunt to apprehend the perpetrators.

Speaking at the burial of Bridget Akanma Onuchukwu in Ihiala, Governor Soludo called on community leaders and residents to unite against criminal elements in the state.

“Communities must rise now and come together. Those who are doing this are within this Ihiala. If you are PG (President General), or leader, or group leader, get information about what is happening. We must rise. We must not let this thing happen again,” Soludo urged.

He further announced the bounty, saying, “Anyone who gives us information that will lead to the arrest of these people, the government will give the person ₦10 million.

“We are placing ₦10 million on their heads, each of them who carried out this crime.”

The governor also condemned the attackers, placing curses on them and their descendants.

“These people who did this, their lineage will never see anything good. They, their families, their children and everything about them will never see any good thing,” he declared.
