BREAKING: Two kidnappers, aged 19, 24, who demanded N5m ransom Following abducting victim, land in police net

Shortly after their victim was freed, two young guys who were allegedly holding out for N5 million in ransom for kidnapping a man in Delta State were taken into custody by state police command personnel, the command revealed on its X account on Tuesday.

The two guys, identified as 24-year-old Peter Idogor and 19-year-old Emmanuel Sunday, were taken into custody by members of the state police command’s Orerokpe Division.

According to the state police command in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, on Tuesday, the Divisional Police Officer of the station received a distress call about the kidnap of one man by the kidnappers who later contacted the family and demanded the sum of N5 million as ransom.

It was gathered that the victim was later released by the kidnappers after payment of an undisclosed amount as ransom.

However, this did not stop the policemen from going ahead with their intelligence gathering and their effort was said to have paid off when they arrested the two young men at their hideout.

According to the statement, during investigation by the police operatives, the victim was said to have identified them men as those who abducted him while they were said to have given more useful information to the police operatives, and disclosed other members of their gang.

The statement added that they are to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation while a manhunt had been launched for the arrest of other members of the gang.
