The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide and elder statesman, Dr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has said that the Organisation has decided to establish Ohanaeze Ndigbo office across the world as Ndigbo has the largest people in the diaspora.
He said, this is to unified Ndigbo wherever they are for the development of Ala Igbo.
This is even as he made Igbo Journalists Association as an affiliate of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, saying that the Igbo Journalists Associstio are needed for the propagation of the activities of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide .
” Igbos have the largest people in the diaspora anywhere in the world . When i visited United States some Igbos who came from the Fiji Island came to see me and I asked them what they are doing there, they said they liked the place and requested that they want me to come to Fiji Island to to establish Ohanaeze Ndigbo office.
Continuing, now, as a result decided to establish the offices of Ndigbo across the world. In Europe our headquarters is London , in North America and Canada , the headquarter is Washington, in South America and Caribbean the headquarter is in Brazil, in Asia is China. In the Pacifics Headquarter is Australia and in Africa it is South Africa. The General Headquarters of Ohanaze Ndigbo worldwide is Enugu .We thank the governor of Enugu state for giving us a land near the Iconic Opara square for the building of a new Headquarters. We have made alot of progress.
He added , once we unified the Igbos in the diaspora no race can beat us . My desire is the development of Igbo land and they are ready to work with us . Now, I am happy that you have come together and you people are going to be part of the activities of Ohanaze Ndigbo worldwide , without the media we cannot achieve much. I announce today that you’re now an affiliate of the Ohanaze Ndigbo worldwide and we will invite you to the meetings and we will ask you to nomimate your members to serve in some of the committees .”
The President General of Apex socio- cultural Igbo Organisation who disclosed this when the Igbo Journalists Association ( IJA) paid him a courstey call in Owerri, Imo state capital, said that the Igbos having the largest population in the diaspora that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership has resolved to unified all diasporan Igbos for the development of Ala Igbo.
Earlier, the National coordinator of Igbo Journalists Association, Sir Amby Uneze, said ” This is the auspicious time for all Igbos at home and in the Diaspora to speak with one voice through the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. In the past, the aphorism “Igbo enwe yi Eze”, has negatively affected the development of Igboland, but we are lucky today that such negative maxim is no longer in the truth as Igbos now have great leaders we can trust.
Such personality that gained popularity across the length and breath of our country through his political sagacity, business acumen, industrial revolution and a one-man riot squad remains the Ahaejiagamba of Igboland, who is today the president general of our dear Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. Therefore, we should support him and he is succeeding.”
