The West Africa Automotive Show (WAAS) has commended Nigeria’s automotive market, tagging it one of the best in Africa.

The commendation was given at the three-day West Africa Automotive Show hosted by BtoB event with the aim of creating business opportunities amongst stakeholders in the automobile industry in Africa.

The exhibition, which started on Tuesday, May 12, 2025, at Landmark Centre, Lagos, attracted hundreds of exhibitors who showcased the goods and services they render to participants, stakeholders, admirers and top dignitaries across the globe.

Shedding light on the purpose of the show, the Exhibition Manager, Georgina Lloyd, hinted that Nigeria’s automotive market remains one of the best in Africa.

She stated that exhibitors were pleased to ship their goods down to the country, while she disclosed that more plans were in offing to promote the country’s automotive business to enviable heights.

“It’s my pleasure to welcome you all to this year’s edition. We’ve been doing this for several years, and I’m glad exhibitors know the worth. I’m thrilled to announce WAAS 2025 is the biggest edition to date. We’ve grown subsequently over the years, and this year, we’re bringing you more, for Nigeria remains one of the best places to showcase an exhibition of this magnitude.

“The country’s automobile business has grown tremendously over the years, and as we speak, it remains one of the best in Africa. We won’t relent in our effort to make it bigger, for there are a lot of plans we’re yet to dish out. I urged everyone to trade safely while we enjoy a worthwhile exhibition.

“We also welcome new delegations from across Nigeria and the entire ECOWAS region, all eager to meet new suppliers and create exciting business opportunities. I would personally like to extend a huge thanks to our sponsors, exhibitors, partners and visitors for their incredible support in making this the biggest WAAS exhibition to date,” she stated.

Speaking on the importance of the exhibition, the President, Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association (ASPAMDA), Ngozie Emechebe and chairman of the show, Luqman Mamudu, commended the organisers of the show for staging such an event in Nigeria.

The duo, however, urged Nigerians to see the show as an avenue to enlighten, orient and expose themselves to the latest technology in the automotive world.
