Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has asserted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will emerge stronger from the current turmoil affecting the party.
Lawal expressed this sentiment in Ibadan on Sunday during a condolence visit to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, following the death of his elder brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde.
“Regarding the ongoing situation in the PDP, it’s important to remember that politics is fraught with challenges. The events in Delta just two days ago highlight that we are actively working to reconnect with the people and regain leadership in this country.
“As governors, we are the leaders of this party, and our voices carry weight. Whatever we decide will guide our actions. There’s nothing fundamentally wrong with the PDP; the current crisis is a natural occurrence, seen in other parties as well. It’s simply part of the political landscape.
“This situation will ultimately strengthen us, as it provides an opportunity to learn from our mistakes—a valuable learning process,” he stated.
Discussing his visit to Makinde, the Zamfara governor said, “Governor Makinde is a dear friend, and it is my duty to extend condolences to him and his family during this difficult time. I am here with my team.
“Death is an inevitable part of life, and we come to offer comfort and solidarity during this trying moment.”
