PlatinumPost reports that Obi was the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election while Yesufu later served as the Clchairperson of the fundraising team for the campaign.
In a post on her verified X handle on Saturday, the Bring Back Our Girls campaigner, said she told Obi two things.
According to her : “The first time Peter Obi @PeterObi called me I told him two things:
1) I am not nice and I will tell you things as they are. I don’t have time for sycophancy.
2) Your back will always be safe with me.
Politics they say is about betrayal. I will rather die than betray anyone.
The day our values no longer align, I will tell you and move on.”
Recall that the Edo -born Yesufu had recently gave tendered account of the money generated for the campaign, saying over N744,500,000.00 in litigation in courts over the poll.
She also said that the campaign team received donations totalling N575,976,994.00 from well meaning Nigerians.
