The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his role in the peace being experienced in his state.
Governor Mutfwang said he paid a visit to the President at his Lagos State residence to update him on the progress that has been made in the area of improving security in Plateau.
In a statement on Monday, Mutfwang recalled that in December 2023, Plateau residents were mourning following attacks on some villages.
Naija News reported that on Christmas Eve (24 December) of 2023 suspected Fulani militia attacked communities in Plateau villages leading to the death of about 40 citizens.
“I visited the President, Bola Tinubu, who has shown great concern for the security of Plateau State, especially considering that just a year ago, our state was in mourning. The President’s commitment to addressing these challenges has been steadfast.
“During our meeting, I provided an update on the progress we’ve made in improving security, as Plateau State has experienced relative peace. We also discussed other critical matters concerning the state,” he said.
Governor Mutfwang reassured his commitment to ensuring that residents of the state remain safe and secure.
He further called on investors to leverage the unique geography of the state by investments.
‘Our focus remains on strengthening security measures to ensure a safe environment and make it increasingly difficult for criminal activities to thrive.
We want to reassure our citizens and investors that Plateau State is now a secure and conducive place for growth and development,” he added.
