Chief Bode George, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party, harshly criticized Herbert Wigwe, the CEO of Access Bank, in a video released by TVC TV. Wigwe used his fortune to create an institution that he promoted in global media.
He questioned Wigwe’s source of income and implied that she had acquired it unfairly. He further claimed that Access Bank received monthly access to dollars, which the bank utilized for its own benefit.
He said, “Who the hell is Elumelu, what did he do? Where is the factory? He was a bank man, a flop bank man, and somehow got a license at the same time as Adeola. All of them are stupendously wealthy now.
Wigwe who became MD of Access Bank has now established a university, he has the temerity to advertise that university on CNN. Wigwe University, that’s personal, established by him. Where is the money? Where is his factory? Access Bank, what is the practice? They release dollars to them on a monthly basis, they use the dollars.”
