President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received praise from Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the National Leader of the Pan-Yoruba group Afenifere, for his decision to visit them following the 2023 election.
During his visit to the Afenifere leaders at Pa Fasoranti’s home in Akure, Ondo State, the President reaffirmed his pledge to steer Nigeria out of its current economic predicament.
Pa Fasoranti said that Tinubu was there to see them during the campaign season where they all prayed for him and he promised that he would come back. He said that his return to Akure to see them shows that Tinubu is a man of his word.
In the statement which was made by Pa Fasoranti and read by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pa Olu Falae, the elder statesman said, “You have kept your word to return to this place where we all prayed for you, and this shows that you are a man of your word.”
In addition to that, Pa Fasoranti said that Tinubu’s performance in office so far has proven that he understands the reason he is in office, which is to show the masses that good governance can be achieved in Nigeria.
According to the report by Vanguard, he said, “Today, you are carrying our flag. We are noted for integrity, competence, fairness and courage. Your performance so far has shown that you understand the full gravity of your mandate, which is to show the Nigerian people that good governance is possible.”
It should be recalled that ahead of the 2023 election, Tinubu had visited the Afenifere leaders, and they had prayed for his victory at the polls.
