The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, on Tuesday reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) commitment to the welfare and operational readiness of its personnel.
Speaking during the 2025 Sallah Luncheon with troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Katsina State, the CAS commended the bravery, resilience, and professionalism of the troops in safeguarding national security.
Represented by Air Vice Marshal Usman Kandi Abdullahi, the CAS praised the troops’ successful operations, including air interdiction missions and precision strikes that have significantly weakened adversary capabilities.
He assured them that their “sacrifices, often under tough conditions, would not go unrecognised”.
Acknowledging the challenges faced in the operational environment, the CAS urged the troops to remain steadfast in their mission to restore peace.
He paid tribute to fallen heroes, honouring their sacrifices and reaffirming NAF’s commitment to their legacy.
Abubakar also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support, as well as the Minister of Defence, the Minister of State of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the Governor of Katsina State for their collaboration in enhancing security efforts.
The event, described as a morale-boosting occasion, provided an opportunity for the military leadership to celebrate Eid al-Kabir with frontline personnel.
