Chibok Abduction: Pastor’s Daughters Among 7 Victims Kidnapped by Boko Haram
Suspected Boko Haram insurgents abducted seven people, including two daughters of a pastor, a woman, and her baby, in Shikarkir village, Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, sources confirmed.
The attack occurred on Wednesday around 8 p.m. Eyewitnesses said about 15 people were initially targeted, but eight managed to escape due to the insurgents’ limited numbers and lack of full armament.
A resident, John Yusuf, stated, “The insurgents did not shoot at anybody, nor destroy any property in Shikarkir during the invasion.”
Another community leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, expressed shock over the recurring attacks in Chibok. “It’s heartbreaking that this is happening weekly. My heart goes out to the families of the abducted, including the pastor’s two daughters, a woman with her children, and the wife of Mr. Smith Shikarkir with her baby. We must demand action from our leaders and support our troops to end this senseless violence,” the leader said.
The incident highlights ongoing security challenges in Borno State, where Boko Haram continues to target civilians and disrupt local communities despite military operations in the region.
