Chief Bode George Said. “That’s One Kind Of An Interpretation That I Don’t Agree With”

Chief Olabode George, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed his disagreement with the Supreme Court’s interpretation of the ruling that rejected President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s argument that he needed 25% of the votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to win the 2023 presidential election.

The Supreme court in their judgement upheld the ruling of the presidential election tribunal that the FCT should be treated as other states in Nigeria.

But reacting to that in an interview on Arise TV, Chief Bode George said,

“There are three major areas where I disagreed entirely with the Supreme court justices. How do you now start interpreting the status of Abuja? Abuja is not a state. It is in addition to the two-thirds of the 36 states of the federation and Abuja.

Do you need to go to school to see that? It’s so simple. But they veered away from that. They said it’s not necessary. That’s one kind of an interpretation that I don’t agree with.”
