Court Dissolves Pastor’s Marriage After Wife Accused Him of Manipulating Her to Take Over Her Wealth

A Customary Court in Ado-Ekiti has dissolved a three-year-old marriage between a man, Pastor Oni Muyiwa and Madam Alabi Adejoke over wife-battering and threats to life.

Muyiwa, a Pastor in one of the popular new-generation churches and a health worker is known to be a perennial divorcee who manipulates women’s wealth to his advantage.

In his ruling, the President of the Court, Mr. J.O Oyedele, ordered that both parties should part ways peacefully without causing disturbance to each other. The Respondent was specifically restrained from visiting the Petitioner’s house once he had removed all his belongings from the premises.

The Court directed the immediate retrieval of the Toyota Camry Car from the Respondent’s possession and its transfer to the Petitioner.

The Court declared that the 3-bedroom flat located behind the School of the Handicap solely belongs to the Petitioner.

Furthermore, the Court pronounced that the two plots of land situated in the Idolofin Community are the property of the Petitioner, and a family receipt is to be issued in the Petitioner’s name.

Madam Ajejoke had initiated the legal proceedings on October 11, 2022, through her counsel, Iyanu Olumuagun, seeking the dissolution of the marriage and requesting the Respondent to vacate her house, as well as return all her belongings.

During cross-examination, it became evident that the Respondent lacked credibility and his testimonies were riddled with falsehoods.

“The Respondent’s responses throughout the proceedings demonstrate his dishonesty, and his evidence cannot be relied upon. Why would he deny knowing a woman who gave birth to his first son named Oni Samuel Okikiola? Why would he also deny knowing Modupe, his first wife?” the Court remarked.

However, the Defendant claimed that the Petitioner did not possess a car, and it was acquired by the Defendant while they were cohabiting.

The Defendant informed the court that it was untrue that the Petitioner alone was responsible for the education and welfare of the child.
