“Dollar Was Almost N1300 At Some Point Last Week, It Has Crashed To Below A Thousand Naira.”

In response to President Tinubu’s leadership style, Biodun Ajiboye, the Assistant Director of Media and Publicity for the now-defunct APC Campaign Council, praised it as a novel and successful strategy for Nigerian governance. He drew attention to the decline in the value of the dollar, pointing out that it was nearly N1300 a week ago but is currently less than a thousand naira.

President Tinubu is presented by Ajiboye as a leader who places a high value on accountability and performance within his administration in an interview with Arise TV. He revealed that performance-based evaluations will be conducted for ministers, and those who don’t live up to the mark will be asked to resign.

According to Ajiboye, President Tinubu’s leadership represents a departure from past practices, emphasizing a new approach to governance in Nigeria. He noted that the president places a strong emphasis on performance evaluation, making it a crucial aspect of his administration. Those who do not deliver on their responsibilities will be required to vacate their positions. This, according to Ajiboye, is essential for addressing the current situation and ensuring progressive movement from one point to another while measuring the level of development achieved.

The significant drop in the value of the dollar, from nearly N1300 to below a thousand naira, serves as a tangible example of the government’s actions. Ajiboye also pointed out that the dollar had been subsidized in Nigeria for approximately 40 years, suggesting a shift in economic policies and goals under President Tinubu’s leadership.

Hear him: “Once a leader signs their understanding in the past, it means sealed and delivered. No, Asiwaju has brought a new lease of life and a new style of leadership to Nigeria. He’s a leader with a high level of presence of mind. His presence of mind is very high, and that is why he told the ministers, We’ll evaluate your performance, and you’ll sit in front of somebody to say this is what is expected of you. The performance evaluation process is very key. It’s very important, and whoever does not perform leaves us. And that is the way to run the situation we’re in now: we must move from point A to point B progressively, and we must be able to measure our level of progression. We must be able to see substantial development in what we’re doing. The dollar was almost N1300 at some point last week, but it has crashed to below a thousand naira. It has to crash to N500. And you know what has happened—the dollar has been subsidized for about 40 years in this country.”
