Dr. Ladan Salihu, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and the former director of the Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the way Mahmood Yakubu, the INEC chairman, oversaw the 2023 presidential election. Dr. Ladan Salihu expressed his pain that Mahmood Yakubu, whom he called his brother, is unable to deliver.

Speaking in an interview with Arise Television, Dr. Ladan Salihu stated that he is disappointed in Mahmood Yakubu because he believes that the INEC chairman could have done better in overseeing the process of the presidential election.

According to him: “I feel terrible in the inside because the INEC chairman, we grew up together, I know him personally, and it pains me that my brother that whom we grew up together cannot deliver. Maybe he had his own shortcomings, and his own constraints, and his own limitations, I don’t know, I haven’t spoken to him, but I am disappointed because I believe that I saw a situation in which he could have done better”.
