Ejiofor Reveals A US Citizen Was Kidnapped In Niger And Brought To Nigeria, The US Came Here In A Few Days

Mike Ejiofor, a former director of the Department of Security and Bureau, described a recent event in which a US person was abducted in Niger and the US responded immediately. He claimed that shortly after, the US troops stepped in, disarming the bandit and saving their national before they could leave for home.

Using this as an example, he underlined how important it is to look for international support in order to deal with these issues head-on and directly. According to reports, US citizen Philip Walton was abducted in Niger on October 26, 2020, and was found in a nearby village in northern Nigeria. On October 31, 2020, a Naval special warfare outfit in the United States known as “Seal Team Six” liberated the 27-year-old from his captors.

According to the report, Walton’s kidnappers had called and damaged ransom from his dad who lives half a mile away from the farm in Nigeria. The Former United States President, Donald Trump confirmed at that time that no U.S. military personnel were injured during the operation as the skilled warriors reunited the hostage with his family.

He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”I think we need foreign support and intervention if we must come out of this security challenge. A US Citizen was kidnapped in Niger and brought to Nigeria, the US came here in a few days and killed the bandit. They rescued their national and went back to their country. So why don’t you look for foreign support? We must confront these matters headlong.”
