Ekiti State Chief Judge, Oyewole Adeyeye, is Dead

The Ekiti State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, has passed away.

Justice Adeyeye’s demise comes after a prolonged period of illness following a serious injury sustained on July 12, 2023, when a section of the state high court complex wall collapsed on him in his office.

Born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, Ekiti East Local Government, Justice Adeyeye was called to the bar in 1986. He began his career as a state counsel in the old Ondo State’s civil service before joining the Ekiti State Judiciary Service Commission in 1996. He was elevated to a judge in the Ekiti State High Court in 2002 and served on various election petition tribunals.

The Association of International Female Lawyers (FIDA) in Ekiti State has sent condolences to Justice Adeyeye’s family. FIDA Chairperson Oyinade Olatunbosun confirmed the news and promised to release a signed statement soon.
