“Engage More Women In Governance” – Minister of Women Affairs Tells Bola Tinubu

As per Vanguard Newspapers, the Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen has called on the incoming President to engage more women in his cabinet. She expressed optimism that the Bola Tinubu and Shettima Presidency would restore peace, unite the country and restore it on the path of growth.

Recall that, Bola Tinubu was declared the winner of the 2023 presidential election. Although, Both the PDP and the LP rejected the election results over alleged rigging, and voter intimidation among other reasons.

Although, Both Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar are not satisfied with the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

They argued that Tinubu’s action was in gross violation of Section 117 of the Criminal Code Act as well as Section 156 of the Penal Code Act.

Though, on Friday, the Supreme Court had dismissed a suit by the PDP to stop Tinubu’s inauguration on May 29 over double nomination.

However, the Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen made the call at a one day intercessory prayer Session organised by Nigerian Women for Peaceful transition and successful inauguration of President-Elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu and his Vice, Sen. Kashim Shettima at Women Development Centre, Abuja.

She urges the incoming President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to engage more women in his cabinet. However, on Monday, May 29th, Tinubu will be sworn in as the next President of Nigeria, succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari.

She also encouraged all Nigerians to stand with them in prayers because the best they can do for their leaders is to support them with prayers.

She also said that, ‘‘Women have paid their dues in Nigeria, I want the incoming government to ensure that they engage more women both in the national state and the local level.

Recall that, Monday, May 29, 2023, has been declared a public holiday by the federal government to commemorate the inauguration of Mr Bola Tinubu as the President of Nigeria.

Besides, the Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen wants the incoming President to engage more women in governance. According to her, women constitute more than fifty per cent of the population and it is women that came out to vote.
