“Even BAT Knows That If PDP Had Gotten Its Act Together, He Won’t Be President Today

Lere Olayinka, a PDP member, said that President Tinubu is aware that he would not be in office today if the PDP had pulled together prior to the election. This statement was made in response to the Supreme Court’s ruling upholding Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election. He acknowledged that the party was not prepared to win, which was why he was disappointed even before the election.

Speaking in an interview with TVC, Olayinka stated that there was no need to go to court in the first place because they did not actually win the election. He added that he’s unhappy that his party is not in government today. He, however, stated that Tinubu is president today because of what the PDP failed to do in the last election.

According to him, “I’ve been disappointed even before the election, so if the party as it is now felt disappointed yesterday, maybe their own disappointment came months after our own disappointment. I’ve said it here that PDP never prepared to win the election, so when you did not prepare to win an election and you actually did not win, there’s no point running to the court trying to now get what you should have gotten so easily from the court. So I’m disappointed and I’m unhappy that my party that ought to be in government, I know that even President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would know by himself that if PDP had gotten its act together before the election, he won’t be the president today, so he’s a president of Nigeria today courtesy of what PDP ought to do that PDP did not do.”
