Ex-deputy chair asks court to sack Abure, Apapa

An ex-deputy leader of the Labour Party (LP), Callistus Okafor, “has asked the Supreme Court to recognize him as the party’s legitimate leader.”

According to Okafor, who spoke with journalists on Friday, “he is still recognized by the LP constitution as the official deputy chairman of the party.”

He went on to say that the interim chair, Lamidi Apapa, “could not have emerged in violation of the law because his emergence would have been better if there had been no consent judgment.”

Okafor’s update states that, “Julius Abure is currently the chairman of a limited partnership without legal authority.”

According to Vanguard, “I am the only acting national chairwoman for the Labour Party. Everybody else who presents themselves as one of these is a scam.”

Let everyone know that on May 18, “I petitioned the Nigerian Supreme Court, requesting that the court declare Abure’s LP chairmanship claims to be false.” said the source.

“I have called the court’s attention to the fact that the LP’s acting secretary cannot become the party’s chairman in accordance with the party’s constitution,” he claimed.

According to Vanguard, “I have also requested that the supreme court declare anything Abure has done in his purported capacity as the chairman of the LP to be void, ineffective, and null and void.” said the source.

Additionally, according to Vanguard, “I expressly called the honorable justices of the supreme court’s attention to the fact that Abure had held a convention and primary for the LP that were unconstitutional because he lacked the authority to do so.”
