Ex-President Buhari Speaks About Tinubu’s Health, Raises Concerns Amid President’s Ill-Health Rumours

Former President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday raised concerns from people who joined him in prayers for his successor, President Bola Tinubu’s health.

Buhari’s prayer came on the occasion of Tinubu’s 72nd Birthday, celebrated today, March 29th.

The former President triggered reactions after he prayed for the president’s health, saying that God should make him remain healthy and happy while he continues to work for the betterment of the country.

On X, Buhari wrote: “Happy 72nd Birthday to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT.

“I commend you for your excellent leadership, and the sustained efforts to overcome the many problems of the country.

“My family and I pray to God that you remain healthy and happy and continue to work for the betterment of the country. Happy birthday to you, and many happy returns of the day!”

In the same vein, many Nigerians jointly prayed for the president’s good health amid rumours that he is battling with an ailment.

Rumours of Tinubu’s alleged illness with claims that he was flown to London, United Kingdom, last year and earlier this year haven’t ceased.

Recall that even with these rumors, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Media repeatedly debunked them.

Onanuga in May 2023 once revealed that President Bola Tinubu is good in health.

He said, “Which Asiwaju is ill. Was he not seen when he went to cast his vote? Does he look like a sick man? The man just travelled on vacation. He went to take a rest. I think he wants to use the opportunity to observe Ramadan outside the country and move to Umrah from there before returning to Nigeria.

“This man has been on the move since last year and, sincerely, deserves all the rest he can get. His office will soon issue a statement.”

Similarly, the then Chief spokesman for the APC PCC, Festus Keyamo (now aviation minister), had also butressed Onanuga’s position.
