In the early hours of today, Femi Fani-Kayode took to his verified Facebook page to break silence after former governor Nasir El-Rufai said Muslim-Muslim presidential tickets will favour the Muslims.
Femi Fani-Kayode said, “people considered Nasir El-Rufai heroes when him and others took Buhari to court and defeated him over the new notes policy.” He added, “it is now unfortunate that he is being tagged a religious bigot simply because he made some comments about the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket. He made the statements before a gathering of Muslim clerics in his state.”
Speaking further, Femi Fani-Kayode said, “those who are calling Nasir El-Rufai all sorts of names do not share his religious faith and have never met him. I just want everyone to know that Nasir El-Rufai is not a religious bigot. He is also not a fascist or jihadist like many people are tagging him.”
Lastly, the former aviation minister said, “if at all El-Rufai were any of the things mentioned above, he will not be my friend. I will even openly oppose and condemn him.”
