Yesterday, Mr. Femi Otedola, a multibillionaire businessman and the Chairman of Geregu Power PLC, took office as the Chancellor of Augustine University in Epe, Lagos. His inauguration took place yesterday during the school’s Convocation ceremony. Arise TV News Channel reported on this donation.
The billionaire announced on stage that he would be contributing ₦750 million to the university as a scholarship for every student for the 2023–2024 academic year during the festivities.
He said he did this because of the prevailing economic hardship that is facing Nigeria at the moment as he said that this will take off a great financial burden from the parents of the students. Femi Otedola has been known to be man that has a heart of gold and he has made donations in the past to institutions that are in need of it.
