FG launches app for Nigerians to track ministries’ performances

The Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App has been introduced by the federal government, allowing Nigerians to monitor the deliverables and key performance indicators of all ministries and provide their own assessments.

The app, accessible at app.cdcu.gov.ng, is downloadable from both the Google Play Store and Apple Store.

Hadiza Usman, the special adviser to the president on policy and coordination and head of the Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU), announced the launch of the app during an event in Abuja on Monday.

She disclosed that this development aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s commitment, made during a cabinet retreat, to ensure citizen involvement in government tracking and management processes.

Usman explained that the CDCU, with support from development partners and consultants, conducted extensive bilateral meetings with ministers, permanent secretaries, and their technical teams over a six-week period to establish the deliverables and key performance indicators (KPIs).

“The bilateral sessions looked at the mandate of the respective ministries in line with the presidential priority areas and arrived at the final deliverable and KPIs,’’ Ms Usman added.

According to the special adviser, the Citizens’ Delivery Tracker is an application that affords citizens the opportunity to view the priority programmes and projects of the federal government on their devices.

“We upgraded this application through consultations with a wide spectrum of stakeholders, and it is now ready for use.

“We are adopting international best practices and utilising globally recognised performance indicators and benchmarks to assess the performance of MDAs in the implementation of government priority programmes, projects, and policies,’’ she said.

Ms Usman said the tracker was dynamic and would be constantly modified to enhance ease of use and maintain a strong feedback loop between citizens and their government.
