The Super Eagles of Nigeria dropped to third place on the Group C Table of the CAF FIFA World Cup Qualifiers when South Africa defeated Benin 2-1 today. The Bafana Bafana of South Africa defeated Benin by two goals to one in the first round of fixtures’ last match, moving them up to the top of the table with three points, ahead of Lesotho in second place.
The Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw with Lesotho in their opening group game and they currently sit third in the group with 1 points. Jose Peseiro’s side looked the better side on paper but we’re unable to secure all three points against Lesotho.
Rwanda and Zimbabwe occupy the 4th and 5th spots after both sides played a goalless draw while Benin are currently ranked in the last position following their defeat to South Africa’s men national team.
