Former Barcelona forward assists Dani Alves with bail money

Rumors circulating online are suggesting the Memphis Depay is the one who paid for Dani Alves release. It was reported earlier that the former Barcelona defender finally posted his €1 million bail money to get his release.

The Brazilian is now free to return to his home in Barcelona while awaiting the final sentence from the court.

The Barcelona court decided to agree to Dani Alves’ request after proving he has roots in Barcelona. He testified before the high court in the presence of his lawyer, Inés Guardiola, via video conferencing.

He said in the meeting: “I believe in justice.,I’m not going to run away and I will be at the disposal of the court until the end”.

Dani Alves requested to be released on bail earlier in the month. His request was granted after a successful hearing and the bail was set. Alves struggled to raise the bail money despite all the wealth he acquired from football in a spectacularly successful career.

Reports suggested he turned to friend and former Barcelona teammate Neymar for help. Several media outlets also announced that Neymar had successfully paid the bail money, but his father has since moved to debunk the rumor.

Neymar Sr went further to distance themselves from the rumor, asserting that Alves is now in a “different situation”. Now, rumors circulating online are suggesting the Memphis Depay is the one who paid for Dani Alves release.

The pair were teammates at Barcelona and are thought to be close friends.
