Former US First Lady, Rosalyn Carter dies at 96

Rosalynn Carter, the wife of former United States President Jimmy Carter, has passed away at the age of 96.

The Carter Center, their non-profit organization, officially announced her death in a statement released on Sunday at 2:10 pm.

Rosalynn Carter, known for her dedication to mental health, caregiving, and women’s rights, peacefully passed away at her home in Plains, Georgia, with her family by her side.

“Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, a passionate champion of mental health, caregiving, and women’s rights, passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, at 2:10 p.m. at her home in Plains, Georgia, at the age of 96. She died peacefully, with family by her side,” the Carter Center stated.
