On Wednesday, tragedy struck BrickHall Schools in Abuja, as a four-year-old student named Miguel Ovoke succumbed to his injuries during the school’s lunchtime.
According to the death certificate issued by Excel Specialist Hospital in Abuja, dated April 24, 2024, Miguel was rushed to the hospital by his teachers at approximately 11 am. Medical records indicate that he was found unconscious after choking on food while eating.
Upon examination, doctors determined that Miguel’s pupils were fixed and dilated, with no response to light. His vital signs were absent, and cardiopulmonary and respiratory activity was unrecordable. Despite immediate resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Miguel’s parents have retained the services of lawyer Deji Adeyanju to represent them in the matter. Adeyanju confirmed the incident on Thursday.
Attempts to contact the school authorities for comment have been unsuccessful, as no response has been received to emails sent to the school’s official address. CONTINUE READING
