‘Fubara Has Not Yet Been Inaugurated And They Said I Fought Him Because Of Atiku’ – Wike

About a few days ago, it was reported that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and the Governor-elect, Siminalayi Fubara had clashed because the incoming governor had claimed he doesn’t want to inherit the enemies of the outgoing governor by not supporting Atiku Abubakar case in court. Wike speaking during the pre-inauguration ceremony has spoken about this issue as he claimed it’s a means to cause problems between him and his successor.

He therefore advised Fubara to guide his heart diligently and follow the footsteps of the former governors. He stated outrightly that neglecting the councils of the elders will open room for enemies to penetrate into his administration.

He said, ”Our Governor-elect, be firm and take decisions. The decisions you will take might not be palatable and they shouldn’t be palatable. No decision that you will take that everyone will be happy. People will criticize you but turn your back against them. Relate well with the elders, you can see the way u have respected Dr. Peter Odili. The day you run away from them, enemies will catch you. And it is the work of enemies to make sure you don’t succeed. You see Fubara has not yet been inaugurated and they said I fought him because of Atiku. That is to show you where they are coming from and where they are heading to.”
