Former President Buhari’s close associate and National Secretary of the now-defunct CPC party, Buba Galadima, claimed that Buhari thought he might “die” if he didn’t secure a political job.
During an interview with Adesuwa Giwa-Osiege on Untold Stories, Galadima asserted that he is more respectable and healthier than Buhari. He did not hold a political post, but he dared anyone to come to a public occasion with him and a public officer, saying that people would naturally congregate around him without any financial incentives.
In Galadima’s words: “He (Buhari) thought I would die if I didn’t get position, I am looking healthier than him and I have more respect than him. If anybody denies the respect I have, let us attend a public function: a public officer and me a common person, and let’s see who people will gather around and joke with and talk with without me giving them a penny, without them knowing what I have to give (sic)”.
