The governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike on Thursday, revealed his position to members of the PDP amid what is going on in the party.
While there have been different rumors as to what step the Rivers state governor might take after the refusal of the chairman to resign, the sitting governor has revealed that he is not going to leave his party.
In a meeting that took place today, Thursday, September 22, Wike revealed that he has met with his colleagues in the PDP regaining what steps would be taken in the coming days and they have finally agreed to not leave the PDP but would continue to fight for equality and democracy in the party.
Details revealed that the meeting took place in Rivers state barely 24 hours after Wike and his loyalists announced their plan to not work for the presidential campaign of Atiku Abubakar due to the refusal of Ayu to resign.
Atiku Abubakar in his reaction had told Wike and his people to rethink their decision for the sake of unity and peace in the party but the camp of the Rivers state governor revealed that Ayu must go before they would declare their support for the campaign train.
