House of Representatives To Reconsider Bills Rejected by Former Presidents, State Assemblies

The House of Representatives will reconsider constitutional amendments that were either rejected by previous parliaments, state assemblies, or not approved by former presidents. The retreat will serve as a forum to examine rejected proposals and explore ways to address concerns that led to their disapproval. The goal is to create an action plan to ensure that the amendments meet the aspirations of Nigerians.

Kalu stressed that constitutional alteration is an ongoing process involving all Nigerians. The legislature aims to develop a constitution that addresses contentious issues such as state police and women’s representation.
