“I Didn’t Get Angry” – Etinosa Idemudia Opens Up on Being Mocked for Having PCOS

Etinosa Idemudia Opens Up: “I Didn’t Get Angry” After Being Mocked for Having PCOS

Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has shared her experience with online ridicule linked to her health condition.

Naija News reports that the 40-year-old actress revealed in an Instagram post that people mocked her for body changes, including facial hair and weight gain, which she later learned were linked to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

The mother of one explained that her encounter with trolls led her to research her symptoms.

She discovered that the physical changes were caused by PCOS, a medical condition affecting women and has no permanent cure but can be managed.

After consulting her gynecologist, she began addressing the symptoms to improve her health.

The actress also used her platform to offer encouragement to other women living with PCOS.

She stressed that being mocked, whether by strangers or loved ones, should not take away confidence or hope.

She affirmed that women with PCOS can still achieve their dreams of motherhood and should not feel diminished by physical symptoms.

She wrote: “A lady came to troll me talking about visceral fat. I didn’t get angry, I googled it and found out it is from a female targeted medical condition called PCOS.

“I discussed with my Gynae on how to manage this because PCOS has no cure, you only manage its symptoms.

“I’m writing this to every woman out there with PCOS to tell you that you are not alone. Even if it’s your husband that is mocking you or strangers online, you will overcome.

“I carried my baby and you will carry your baby. That facial hair or stubborn fat does not make you any less. You are beautiful and you are enough.”
