I Have The Power To Withdraw Obi’s Petition If He Does Not Regard Me As Chairman – Calistus Okafor.

Amid the ongoing leadership tussle currently rocking the Labour Party, Calistus Okafor, who was once the deputy National Chairman of the Labour Party, LP, while speaking during an exclusive interview with the TVC360 has noted that he has the power to withdraw the petition of the former governor of Anambra State and Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Gregory Obi, if he fails to acknowledge him as the acting National Chairman of the party.

It might interest you to know that the leadership crisis rocking the Labour Party, LP, deepened on Tuesday as it suspended a factional leader, Lamidi Apapa, its National Deputy Chairman (South), and some other officials.

Based on these notes, while speaking during the interview, Calistus Okafor noted that the party does not acknowledge Abure as the National Chairman of the party because he was an acting National Secretary, adding that according to the scheme of ranking, the deputies are the next people to take over from the former National Chairman through a convention.

In addition to his statement, Okafor alleged that for the moment, Labour Party does not have a chairman, adding that he is the acting National Chairman, and he has the power to withdraw Peter Obi’s petition if he fails to acknowledge him as acting National Chairman.

He also said that Peter Obi should know the right people to work with.
