In a report by Vanguard, Mr. Akinsanya Taofiq, a victim of a hoodlum attack in the Egan Oriomi community, Lagos State, shared his frightening experience. He said that while trying to save his grandson, when his daughter-in-law raised an alarm, the hoodlums attacked him with a cutlass, and even when one of his sons who came to rescue him from their hands was smashed with a bottle on his head.
According to Mr. Akinsanya Taofiq, “I live in the same community as my son. But on that day, I decided to spend the night with his family because of the strange faces roaming the community. When my daughter-in-law raised the alarm that her baby was inside, I attempted to rush inside to save him. But they attacked me with cutlasses, even when I begged them to consider the baby. One of my sons, who came to rescue me from their grips, had his skull smashed with a bottle.”
