I urged unity and cooperation amongst States and the Federal Government- Tinubu to Nigeria Governors

Nigeria’s President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has revealed that he urged unity and cooperation amongst the 36 States and the Federal Government, after meeting with Governors on Wednesday.

 

It was reported that President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had a meeting with all the 36 governors of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Wednesday, and they were able to discuss many issues.

This was the first meeting the Nigeria Governors Forum led by its Chairman and Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq would be having with the president since he assumed office over a week ago.

Also at the meeting (according to Channels Television) was the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, the newly sworn in Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno, among others.

Some of those physically in attendance include the Govenors of Zamfara, Kano, Taraba, Kogi, Ogun, Nasarawa, Bayelsa, Adamawa, Ebonyi, Lagos, Rivers, Osun, Jigawa, Benue, Taraba, Delta, Enugu, Rivers, Oyo, Plateau, Kebbi, Abia, Imo and Bauchi.

Reacting after meeting the 36 governors of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu posted on his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday evening that;

“Earlier today at the State House, I had the honor of meeting with the governors of all the states of our country, led by the Chairman of the Nigerian Governor’s Forum (NGF), Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State.

At the meeting, I urged unity and cooperation amongst the States and the Federal Government.

It is my belief that to conquer our nation’s long-standing challenges such as poverty and underdevelopment, we must collaborate as occupants of one great house for the progress and well-being of our nation.”
