If I Withdraw My Vote In The Primary, Obi Will Seize To Be The Candidate Of Labour Party – Arabambi

The issue of legitimacy has been a major concern for the Lamidi Apapa faction which has been denied by the NLC and the TUC. The Chairman of the NLC, Joe Ajaero specifically stated that the Apapa faction are sponsored elements who have been bought over to destroy the party. The Spokesman of the Apapa Faction and a Suspended National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi has threatened to withdraw his vote that got Peter Obi elected as the party Presidential candidate.

Arabambi lamented over the ingratitude that has been shown towards the National Working Committee that voted for Peter Obi during the primaries. He alleged that Obi and the Abure faction cannot continue to disown them when they are legal executives of the party. According to him, the people who voted for Peter Obi at the primary in Asaba were the NWC and not the supporters of Barrister Julius Abure.

He said, ”I was waiting for someone to make that statement that I’m not a member of the Labour Party. I have warned them that when you say you don’t know the people that voted for you, we are at liberty to neutralize his primary. We voted for Peter Obi in his primary. If I withdraw my vote in the primary, Peter Obi will seize to be the candidate of the Labour Party. It was only Abure and his people from Uromi that came to Asaba for that primary. We are the elected executives, we are the ones that voted for Peter Obi in Asaba.”
