“If Tinubu Truly Won, I Would Have Gone Back Home To Start Preparing For 2027 Election” — Farotimi

Numerous political parties and influential figures in Nigerian society have challenged the legitimacy of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the recent Presidential election, claiming that the INEC disregarded the law in its declaration.

Dele Farotimi, a member of the Obidatti campaign council, has alleged that if Tinubu had truly won the election, he would have conceded defeat. Farotimi argued that the constitution stipulates that a candidate must obtain 25% of the votes in 24 states and the FCT to be declared President-elect, and that it is up to the court to decide whether this constitutional requirement should be upheld in the construction of a new nation.

He declared that he and other democrats would have acknowledged and congratulated Tinubu or Atiku if they had truly won, but that Tinubu’s attempt to steal the election with the complicity of INEC must be decided by the court.

According to his Sahara TV interview, he said, “As a democrat, I would have congratulated Tinubu or Atiku if they had won the election fairly. However, it is evident that Tinubu did not win and is trying to manipulate the results thanks to INEC. The final decision now lies with the Court to determine if INEC is part of this fraudulent act.”
