Fresh controversy has erupted in the Idibia household as the family of Nigerian music icon, Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, accusing his partner, Natasha Osawuru, of multiple offences including assault, financial misappropriation, bigamy, and alleged threats to life.
The petition, which surfaced online on Thursday and is dated November 12, detailed allegations that Natasha physically assaulted 2Baba in both Abuja and the United Kingdom.
The family also claimed that she unlawfully transferred funds from the singer’s bank accounts without his consent, resulting in financial loss and emotional distress.
According to the petition, Natasha was also accused of withholding the singer’s international passport and other vital documents, allegedly hindering him from attending business engagements and causing reputational damage.
The Idibia family further raised alarm over what they described as violations of marriage laws, arguing that 2Baba had not concluded divorce proceedings with his estranged wife, Annie Macauley-Idibia, before Natasha began presenting herself publicly as his new wife.
They also alleged substance abuse, claiming it contributed to violent behaviour and instability.
The petition gained traction online just days after 2Baba’s former managers, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, alleged during an Instagram Live session with media personality Daddy Freeze that Natasha was attempting to seize full control of the singer’s finances and career.
The situation escalated when 2Baba joined the livestream, pleading with his ex-managers to stop discussing his private affairs publicly.
Moments later, the broadcast abruptly ended after a physical altercation reportedly broke out between him and Natasha.
Reacting to the incident, the singer’s younger brother, Hyacinth Idibia, took to Instagram to tell 2Baba to “allow us to save you,” signalling deepening family concerns over his well-being.
Amid the growing public drama, the Edo State House of Assembly has summoned Natasha Osawuru who represents Egor constituency to appear before a committee over her widely criticised conduct in the viral videos.
