“I’m Not Ungrateful” — Ex-APC Chairman Denies Move to ADC

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, has denied reports circulating online that he has defected to the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Speaking with New Telegraph on Thursday, Adamu described the claims as false and misleading, saying they were merely attempts by social media users to attract attention. He firmly dismissed the reports, stressing his loyalty to his political roots.

“I am not an ungrateful politician,” he said, making it clear that he has no intention of abandoning the party he helped build.

Adamu, a two-term governor of Nasarawa State and former senator elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has had a long and influential political career. He previously served as Secretary of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

He later became a key figure in the formation of the APC, helping guide the party to national relevance before emerging as its National Chairman in 2022.

Reports of his alleged defection to the ADC had gained traction on social media, with claims that the move was driven by internal disagreements within the APC and dissatisfaction with the party’s direction. The reports suggested that his exit would deal a major blow to the APC, given his influence since the party’s formation in 2015.

However, Adamu strongly rejected the narrative.

“Don’t mind the social media reporter. They want to draw me out, but I have nothing to tell anybody. I am not an ungrateful politician. I served at the highest level of my party, and I am where I am today,” he said.

Adamu served as APC National Chairman until his removal in 2023, shortly after the general election that produced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. During his time in office, he was a vocal supporter of Senate President Ahmed Lawan’s presidential ambition on the APC platform.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
