Important Board of Trustees meeting is held by PDP in Abuja.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently holding a crucial Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

The meeting, which brings together the highest advisory body of the party, is expected to address key issues concerning the future of the party, its internal structure, and strategies for the forthcoming elections.

The BoT is led by former Senate President Adolphus Wabara, who is overseeing the meeting.

Others include the acting national chairman of the party, Illya Damagum and the national secretary, Senator Sam Anyanwu.

Also spotted are the former governor of Imo state, Achike Udenwa and the former minister of special duties and intergovernmental affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN.

The PDP’s Board of Trustees is a critical institution within the party’s framework, often referred to as the “conscience of the party.”

It is composed of seasoned political figures, former leaders, and key stakeholders who provide strategic guidance and oversight on the party’s direction.

The BoT acts as a mediator and stabilizer during periods of internal conflict, making this particular meeting crucial as the PDP faces significant challenges on both state and national levels.

Sources close to the meeting have hinted that several pressing issues may dominate the discussions, including party unity and internal reforms, post-election review for the just concluded Edo guber poll, the Rivers state crisis and the future of PDP leadership.
